Selina got this idea when thinking about mermaids, and how she mostly imagines them wearing things they find around the ocean, seashells are a classic example, rather than ever actually making clothes themselves (a mermaid sewing? can you imagine anything sillier?). So here is a mermaid that has found some washed up pirate treasures, and decided the pirate flag would make a fine top to wear. Acrylic on Paper, 2007
